Comparison of Calories

Rogue Energy includes 12 calories per serving whereas Zipfizz includes 20 calories per serving.

While Zipfizz’s calorie number is considered low, you would still want to go for the one which includes lower calories or a calorie-free one if you’re on a low-calorie diet. This way, you’ll concede more calories to come from other sources like pasta and bread in your lunch and dinner.

To put it frankly, if you have the option to go calorie-free, then why not go for it?

However, if you’re someone who lives an active lifestyle, going for Zipfizz with 20 calories would be more advantageous as you could utilize the energy calories provided to do your daily activities with ease.

According to the NIH, as a universal guideline for healthy grown-ups, the calorie absorption must be 2,000 calories per day for women and 2,500 calories per day for men.

Side Effects of Calories

The side effects of consuming too many calories may include the following:

  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Risk of type 2 diabetes
  • Gallstones
  • Cancers, especially endometrial cancer

Comparison of Carbohydrates

Rogue Energy includes zero carbohydrates whereas Zipfizz includes 2g of carbohydrates per serving.

Carbohydrates are defined for the chemical elements carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen that they contain. Carbohydrates, which comprise sugars, fibers, and starches, are required nutrients.

Both are excellent for weight loss because they contribute as little as 2g to none at all. Rogue is your best buddy if you’re on a tight calorie and carbohydrate counting diet.

As approved by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, your carbohydrates absorption should be 45% to 65% of your daily calorie consumption. Let say you’re consuming 2000 calories each day, so 900 to 1300 calories should come from carbohydrates.

Side Effects of Carbohydrates

Here is the list of the possible side effects of consuming too many carbohydrates:

  • Weight gain
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Poor metabolic health
  • High blood sugar

Comparison of Sodium

Rogue Energy includes 70mg of sodium per serving whereas Zipfizz includes 75mg per serving.

Sodium aids in the retention of water in the body, which is useful for physically demanding tasks. A 5-milligram difference is insignificant enough to be debated.

If you’re keeping track of your meals, you’ll notice a difference, and I’d recommend going with the less expensive option. There isn’t an issue if there isn’t one.

What matters most is that both sodium levels fall inside the FDA’s low sodium category. This is good news because sodium does not require a significant amount to perform its functions in the body. Furthermore, too much sodium (table salt) raises health concerns such as hypertension.

Side Effects of Sodium

Here are the possible side effects of consuming too much sodium in your diet:

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease

Comparison of Sugar

Both Rogue Energy and Zipfizz are sugar-free energy drinks.

As you may have observed, neither brand contains any sugar in its composition which is a significant plus in my opinion.

Colorful sugar candies.
Everybody should limit their daily absorption of sugar.

Excess sugar is now the cause of a lot of chronic sicknesses; therefore, it’s a relief that these risks are reduced with Zipfizz or Rogue.

Both Rogue Energy and Zipfizz use artificial sweeteners instead of table sugar to make their energy beverages delicious. What are those artificial sweeteners?

Artificial Sweeteners Used

Rogue Energy uses only sucralose whereas Zipfizz uses xylitol along with the former one.

Sucralose is calorie-free while xylitol includes a low number of calories.

If you prefer not to have any calories in your drink, then Rogue Energy is your best choice since it’s completely calorie-free. Even the artificial sweetener used in Rogue Energy is doesn’t include any calories.

Artificial sweeteners may have gotten negative publicity, but according to the FDA, sucralose and xylitol are generally safe for human consumption, given that they are utilized in proper amounts.

Their sweetness will not vary from each other since both constituents function the same and provide similar sweetness.

Side Effects of Artificial Sweeteners

The following are the possible side effects of consuming artificial sweeteners:

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Digestive problems
  • Rashes
  • Diarrhea

Comparison of Caffeine

Rogue Energy includes 175mg of caffeine whereas Zipfizz Energy includes 100mg of caffeine.

Every day, billions of people accept caffeine to help them get through a night stint or break out of an afternoon slump. This natural stimulant is one of the most frequently used chemicals on the planet. Caffeine is well-known for disrupting sleep and forming stress.

When compared to Zipfizz, Rogue Energy has higher caffeine content. This makes Rogue Energy a better gaming alternative than Zipfizz as it can give a greater and longer caffeine boost for extended gaming sessions.

Zipfizz Energy, on the other hand, contains a sufficient amount of caffeine to feel its benefits, although it isn’t as intense. With 100mg of caffeine, that’s equivalent to an 8oz cup of ordinary coffee.

It’s perfect for folks who need a pick-me-up to start the day or who are just tired and sleepy in the middle of the day.

According to the FDA, a healthy individual should consume no more than 400mg each day.

Side Effects of Caffeine

The possible side effects of consuming too much caffeine are enumerated in the list below:

  • Agitation
  • Black, tarry stools
  • Blood in the stools or urine
  • Bruising
  • Burning feeling or tenderness in the stomach
  • Chills

I have added a YouTube video exposing the adverse effects of caffeine on the body.

Comparison of Ingredients Rogue Energy VS. Zipfizz

Now that all of the primary ingredients have been compared, it’s time to examine how they stack up in terms of nutrition.

Vitamins

In terms of vitamins, Zipfizz is more nutritious than Rogue Energy.

I have added a table below showing the difference in vitamins between these two beverages.

Zipfizz contains all B vitamins except for Vitamin B7, while Rogue only has three varieties of it. As you may know, B vitamins are assumed to be effective in boosting your cognition and your energy.

Although Rogue Energy ties up with Niacin and Vitamin D3, there’s a lot of benefits lacking that Zipfizz conveniently has.

Minerals and Electrolytes

It’s obvious in this table that Zipfizz is richer in minerals and electrolytes compared with Rogue Energy.

I have added a table below to show the basic difference between the minerals and electrolytes of these two beverages.

Only Zipfizz has calcium, selenium, copper, manganese, and chromium in its formula, which is advantageous for your bones, encourages the creation of red blood cells, and creates necessary proteins in the body.

Complex Ingredients

Rogue Energy doesn’t accommodate as many vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes as Zipfizz but is rich in amino acids and other elements that are centered towards energy, focus, and recovery.

I have added a table below to show the complex ingredients of both energy beverages.

Comparison of the complex ingredients of Rogue and Zipfizz energy drinks.

This table shows how Rogue Energy and Zipfizz’s formulations are so separate from each other. This is also where picking between the two becomes complicated.

Rogue has grouped its ingredients into three complexes so you can easily understand what each component is for.

And if it’s something you’re looking for, Rogue Energy includes an aphrodisiac which is a herb called mucuna pruriens that helps enhance your sexual performance. This is something Zipfizz doesn’t advance.

However, Zipfizz has a special group of antioxidants called “Botanical Antioxidant Blend,” where most of the elements included aren’t found in Rogue Energy. These are plant seeds and extracts that contain numerous advantages, such as reducing the risks of cancer, better blood circulation, and reducing fatigue.

Unlike other brands, Rogue Energy and Zipfizz showcase diverse derivatives in the formulation. With their components, I find it hard to choose which brand is formulated better than the other. I suggest you choose which privilege you want for yourself.

Other Ingredients

According to the information on the container and on their website, Zipfizz does not contain any food additives. Rogue Energy, on the other hand, has food additives that are commonly found in foods and beverages.

Other IngredientsRogueZipfizz
Citric Acid
Artificial Flavors
Silicon Dioxide
Maltodextrin
Sucralose
Xylitol
Comparison of food additives of Rogue Energy and Zipfizz Energy.

Only Zipfizz has xylitol, while both Rogue Energy and Zipfizz contain the artificial sweetener sucralose.

Sucralose and xylitol are the only food additives declared in Zipfizz, as you may have noticed. I looked at their website and packaging to see if there were any other ingredients, such as preservatives or colorings, but the only ones I found were artificial sweeteners.

Zipfizz claims to include no artificial flavors or colors in its products. However, no further information has been provided regarding this matter.

Because Zipfizz powders contain pigments, I’m sure a food coloring was used in the formulation—it might be artificial or natural—but because it wasn’t mentioned, how are you meant to know what food additives were utilized in the process?

Zipfizz, in my opinion, can improve on this. It’s important to demand transparency from the beverages you consume.

Which energy drink has a better flavor?

Both brands have about the same number of flavors and a similar flavor variety.

Despite the fact that both brands mostly provide fruit tastes, I prefer Rogue Energy’s flavor assortment. It doesn’t have much to give, but the thought of having two fruit flavors in one is appealing to me.

Rogue Energy

Rogue Energy includes 13 different flavors.

  • Rogue Energy Blue Raspberry
  • Rogue Energy Watermelon
  • Rogue Energy Cherry Limeade
  • Rogue Energy Strawberry Kiwi
  • Rogue Shake Caramel Vanilla Latte
  • Rogue Shake Cookies ‘N Cream
  • Rogue Energy Pink Lemonade
  • Rogue Energy Grape Popsicle
  • Rogue Energy Mango Pineapple
  • Rogue Hydration Fruit Punch
  • Rogue Hydration Dragon Fruit Mango
  • Rogue Extreme Strawberry Lemonade
  • Rogue Extreme Green Apple

Because of the way Rogue labels its flavors, you can get a good indication of what to expect.

The Mango Pineapple flavor from Rogue Energy is my fave. Its sweet and sour flavor combination is perfect, and it doesn’t leave an aftertaste like some of Rogue’s other flavors.

Zipfizz Energy

Zipfizz includes 14 flavors that you can choose from.

  • Black Cherry
  • Blueberry Raspberry
  • Grape
  • Berry
  • Fruit Punch
  • Orange Soda
  • Citrus
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Orange Cream
  • Lemon Iced Tea
  • Grapefruit
  • Limon
  • Peach Mango
  • Piña Colada

Like Rogue Energy, Zipfizz’s flavor names are pretty straightforward as they are named after fruits.

I’ve tried all their flavors, and they’re quite likable as well. If there’s one flavor I’d be happy to sip every day, that’s the Grapefruit flavor. It’s really tasty, and I like that its sweetness doesn’t overwhelm the sour taste.

Different flavors of ice-cream.
Both the energy includes mostly fruity flavors, but Rogue Energy is more creative with its flavors.

Which energy drink is more affordable?

Rogue Energy is more affordable than Zipfizz.

Energy DrinkPriceNumber of ServingsPrice Per Serving
Rogue Energy$32.9930$1.09
Zipfizz$37.9920$1.89
Price comparison between Rogue Energy and Zipfizz.

Rogue Energy is clearly the better deal, as it is $0.80 cheaper than Zipfizz. In my opinion, that’s almost a dollar difference. Rogue Energy allows you to spend less for more servings.

I believe Zipfizz’s single-serve tubes add to their value or price, which is why it’s more expensive, whereas Rogue Energy uses tubs, which I believe are not only practical and cost-effective but also environment-friendly.

Where to buy Rogue Energy and Zipfizz?

Zipfizz can be purchased online and in stores while Rogue Energy is only available online.

If you’re used to shopping online, either of the two brands will be convenient to purchase. However, if you prefer to shop in physical stores, I’m afraid Zipfizz is now only available in convenience stores and supermarkets.

If you don’t like paying for things and waiting for them to arrive, Rogue Energy’s lack of availability in physical stores can be a drawback.

Final Thoughts

Rogue Energy and Zipfizz have a few things in common, yet they are vastly different. One thing is certain: they each have their own group of customers to satisfy. Both formulations are excellent in my perspective, but they are not suitable for all types of consumers.

Although Zipfizz includes more vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes in its formula, the caffeine content is a bit low for those who need solid bosts and it comes with a higher price.

In my opinion, Rogue Energy will be more beneficial to you because it contains a higher level of caffeine to let you play for longer periods of time. It’s also fantastic for weight loss because it’s calorie-free and carbohydrate-free. Rogue is also more affordable compared to Zipfizz energy drink.
