Calorie Content of G Fuel VS. Red Bull

G Fuel includes 25 calories per serving whereas every 8.4fl.oz can of Red Bull includes 110 calories.

Calories are a form of energy storage. In science, the term “calorie” is attributed to a unit of energy or heat derived from any fuel. People require calories from fats, proteins, carbs, and sugars in order to survive and engage in sustenance.

The calories in Red Bull would pile up faster than the calories in G Fuel, given that the recommended daily calorie intake for women is 2000 to 2400 calories and for males is 2400 to 3000 calories.

In the case of G Fuel, its calorie level will have little impact on your overall daily consumption, making it the better alternative when compared to Red Bull, especially if you plan to invest in it for a long time or are on a diet.

Red Bull, on the other hand, has a higher calorie level, which gives you more energy to burn off throughout your workouts and is handy if you need a rapid boost, making it a better choice if you live an active lifestyle.

Although Red Bull provides more calories than G-Fuel, the difference isn’t significant when compared to the daily suggested serving.

So, unless you drink Red Bull more than once a day, which I don’t recommend, the caloric count won’t be an issue.

Side Effects of Calories

The side effects of calories have been included in the following list:

  • Anxiety
  • Dryness
  • Dehydration
  • Sleeplessness
  • Headache and dizziness
  • Restlessness

Sugar Content of G Fuel VS. Red Bull

G-Fuel is a sugar-free beverage with artificial sweeteners whereas Red Bull has 27 grams of sugar. However, Red Bull has a sugar-free version as well.

Sugar is the most basic type of carbohydrate, consisting of a range of sweet, colorless, water-soluble granules ascertained in the sap of seed plants and in the milk of mammals.

Minor modifications to the cleaning, crystallizing, and drying processes, as well as molasses content, can offer a variety of sugars. Sugars with varying crystal sizes have different functional qualities, allowing them to be employed in a variety of meals and beverages.

The American Heart Association (AHA) encourages a daily sugar restriction of 25 grams for women and 36 grams for men.

G Fuel is the best option if you’re on a diet or trying to stay healthy because it’s sugar-free.

Although Red Bull has a moderate quantity of sugar (27g per 8.4 fl. oz), if you’re a woman, the sugar content of Red Bull may cause you some concerns.

Aside from not interfering your daily sugar and calorie intake, G Fuel being sugar-free is also healthier choice for you in the long run compared to Red Bull.

Side Effects of Sugar

The side effects of having sugar in excessive amounts have been included in the following list:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • High blood pressure
  • Tooth decay

Furthermore, consuming too much sugar in a short amount of time will cause your blood sugar levels to surge and plummet, resulting in a sugar crash that may leave you feeling sluggish and sleepy.

Although a can of Red Bull may make you feel energized and active, keep your consumption to one per day to stay healthy.

What does G Fuel use to substitute sugar in its formula?

G Fuel uses sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium to bring a sweet taste to its formula.

Despite having nearly no calories, sucralose has been chemically manipulated to make it 600 times sweeter than sugar. Sucralose is commonly used in yogurt, confectionery, ice cream, and soda since it has no aftertaste.

Acesulfame potassium, generally known as Ace-K, is a sugar substitute. Artificial sweeteners have sparked a debate because of some of their potential health risks.

Acesulfame Potassium is 200 times sweeter than ordinary sugar and has an unpleasant aftertaste. However, it doesn’t taste bitter when combined with sucralose.

Side Effects of Artificial Sweeteners

The side effects of artificial sweeteners have been included below:

  • Joint pain
  • Constipation
  • Headaches
  • Abdominal pain

Upon taking a closer look at the ingredients, you can see that both the energy beverages have some common ingredients such as citric acid, taurine, caffeine, vitamin B12, etc.

However, both energy beverages have some ingredients in them that are not common, such as maltodextrin, beta carotene, silicon dioxide, antioxidant complex, sucrose, etc.

In my opinion, G Fuel is a better option than Red Bull as it contains different types of vitamins and antioxidant complex in its formula that encourages our body to stay healthy and nourished.

Caffeine Content of G Fuel vs. Red Bull

G Fuel contains 150mg of caffeine every 7g serving (typically mixed with 12 to 16 fl. oz of water), whereas Red Bull contains 80mg of caffeine per 8.4 fl. oz.

A handful of roasted coffee beans.
Roasted coffee beans are a well-known reservoir of caffeinated energy beverages.

Caffeine is a key element in energy drinks since it boosts your alertness, improves your cognitive abilities, and boosts your physical performance.

To be honest, both G Fuel and Red Bull offer a decent quantity of caffeine, especially when you consider that some energy drinks can have up to 300mg of caffeine per serving.

My personal caffeine preference for energy drinks is between 100mg to 200mg of caffeine per serving, which hits the sweet spot between a decent energy boost, without the overwhelming side effects.

G Fuel and Red Bull, on the other hand, cater to a variety of tastes and caffeine tolerances. If you have a low caffeine metabolism, Red Bull is the ideal option for you, as it contains the least amount of caffeine, whereas G Fuel is best for more experienced caffeine users.

However, being a powdered energy drink, G Fuel has the advantage of allowing you to customize the strength of your drink to your preferences.

For reference, the FDA recommends a daily caffeine admission of 400mg for healthy adults.

Another thing to keep in mind about caffeine is that it must be consumed in moderation. Caffeine is useful, but it can have some unpleasant side effects if consumed in excess.

Side Effects of Caffeine

Excessive caffeine absorption often leads to the following consequences:

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Stomachache
  • Headache
  • High blood pressure
  • Insomnia
  • Dehydration

Are G Fuel and Red Bull keto-friendly?

G Fuel is keto-friendly, however, not all version of Red Bull is keto-friendly due to including sugar.

Our bodies utilize glucose from carbohydrate sources for energy in typical situations. In the absence of glucose, a condition known as ketosis develops. This is a condition in which the body utilizes fats as its primary fuel source rather than carbs.

The liver burns down fat storage to provide energy when we don’t eat carbs. This energy manifests itself in the form of ketone molecules, which it also manufactures.

Ketosis is a metabolic state in which the body torches fat and protein rather than carbs to make glucose.

Are G Fuel and Red Bull vegan?

G Fuel is not vegan as per the official statement, whereas Red Bull includes all vegan-friendly ingredients but no official statement has been made.

Veganism is a worldview that rejects the status of animals as commodities, as well as a practice of abstaining from eating animal products.

Vegans do not consume animal products such as dairy, eggs, or honey, nor do they wear fur, leather, wool, or down, nor do they use cosmetics or chemicals that have been rigorously tested.

Are G Fuel and Red Bull gluten-free?

Both G Fuel and Red Bull are gluten-free.

A bread made from almond flour.
bread made of almond flour is good food and can be consumed without worry if diagnosed with celiac disease.

Gluten is made up of two complex proteins: glutenin and gliadin. Gliadin, the more dangerous of the two proteins, is connected to the majority of the negative effects of gluten consumption.

There is, however, some good news. Gluten-free food options are now widely available, and they are delicious.

G Fuel and Red Bull, both energy drinks that are safe to consume if you have celiac disease or any other gluten-related illness.

  • Star Fruit
  • Shiny Splash
  • Peach Cobbler
  • Snow Cone
  • Strawberry Banana
  • Tropical RainbowWumpa Fruit

Firstly, I have tried their peach cobbler, and I was not too fond of this one. This flavor has a slight resemblance to the peach fruit.  It has an ultra-sweet refinement with a harsh sugary aftertaste.

Second, I tried their Fazzberry flavor that is crammed with pomegranate, strawberry, and blueberry. I enjoyed this flavor full of berries. This is truly an amazing flavor.

If you don’t like the original flavors, Red Bull provides a range of flavors to pick from.

  • Original (amber)

  • Purple/Acai (acai berry)
  • Lime (lime-lemon)
  • Orange Sugar-free (orange)
  • Yellow/Tropical Sugar-free (tropical)
  • Winter Edition (plum-cinnamon)

First, I tried Red Bull’s Tropical and found it surprisingly flavorful and tasty. It does not include any metallic aftertaste and provides a mild boost in energy.

Second, I tried their lime flavor, and my mouth was aching due to the sourness they added. You might like this one, but this flavor is a big no for me.

Where to Buy G Fuel and Red Bull and Price?

G Fuel Powder energy punch may be purchased from various sources for individuals seeking to fuel their exercises.

Although Red Bull is possible in both online and physical stores, you can purchase it from other sites, such as follows.

G Fuel costs around $36 for 40 servings, or around $1 per serve, whereas an 8.4 fl. oz can of Red Bull costs around $2, or twice the price of a serving of G Fuel.

G Fuel is not only more affordable but also healthier than Red Bull and thus, a better choice in my opinion.

Conclusion

Both G-Fuel and Red Bull are good drinks, and they both have their perks for different circumstances. However, considering the unique aspects and advantages of both G Fuel and Red Bull, I will choose G Fuel over Red Bull.

G Fuel is not only more affordable but also sugar-free and includes a very low amount of calories. It also introduces a moderate amount of caffeine and essential vitamins and nutrient which helps you to stay healthful and nourished.
